This year it’s 25 years ago that BMW is its impressive 8-series presented. A heugelijk fact that recently was celebrated by many international fanboys.

The enthusiasts gathered on the site where the 8-series ever saw the light of day. In the German Dingolfing gave the fans a guided tour through the factory and then, in a procession of 120 8-series in the direction of the BMW museum in Munich to drive.

There were the luxecoupés to speakers arranged for a photo shoot. Both the 840i (V8), 850i (V12) and the exclusive CSi were all present. A beautiful tribute to an (often) understated car.

From 1989 to 1999 had a total 30.621 8-series of the band. Funnily enough, were 24 instances in South Africa built. This would then be cheaper than the export to this country. More than 60 percent of all 8-series are equipped with a V12 and only one in six vehicles had a manual gearbox, including all of the CSi versions (1510 pieces).
