While the attention in terms of alternative drives many brands on EV’s is, bet Toyota is not on one horse, and gives hydrogen cars will have a chance.
At the autoshow of Geneva showed Toyota with the FCV Concept, to see that hydrogen cars with a fuel cell on board is still high on the agenda at the brand. According to the Japan Times in december of this year a sequel to it, sources reported to the newspaper that there were “a number of dozen per month” will be produced and the delivery this year will take place. A year earlier than planned. How the car will look like is not known, but we guess it’s a lot less exciting than the FCV.
The car will at first only in Japan are sold and translated around the €57.200 going to cost you. So it goes that with new techniques, which have been in the beginning stervensduur. In the following decade, the price would be, however, already halved, according to the Japanese.
The question is whether Toyota’s perseverance in terms of hydrogen cars, where hydrogen through a fuel cell is converted into electricity for the electric drive, for a breakthrough. They are also not the only one that the volatile substance to use in cars. BMW works together with Toyota, already the technique and recently made Daimler, Nissan and Ford have the same type of cooperation known. They want to be in 2017 a trio of affordable hydrogen cars on the market. In addition to working on Honda for years on the waterstofweg, and already has the FCX Clarity on the market. In addition to Hyundai (Kia), Mazda, Suzuki and GM also research.
Now is still enough hydrogen refueling stations.
