Singapore, where else.

The skeptic is not likely to EV’s get used, while the average expert says again a desire to simmering, shaking and troop emission internal combustion engines. That debate is mostly subjective and there burning our fingers not to. Or at least, not now.

How the mutual relationships in the area of the emission exactly, is a bit murkier. The Land Transport Authority (LTA) in Singapore, however, has yet calculated how much CO2 a Model S per kilometre vomits, and this was the instance at a value of 222 g/km! For comparison: such a fat BMW 750Li xDrive is for 192 g/km in the books.

How was the emissions calculated?

The LTA comes to the aforementioned an emission figure of to calculate that the Tesla Model S 444 watt-hour per kilometer consumes (at a specified power consumption of max. ~200 Wh per km). For EV’s to calculate the emissions by the number of Wh to multiply with 0.5 grams of CO2. Ergo: the Model’s rams per kilometre 222 grams of CO2 in the air.

Where that CO2 comes from? Indeed, not from the exhaust pipe, because there is not. Electricity must, however, be raised, and there lies the crux of the story. However, we ask ourselves aloud whether it is so easy and accurate to use this alternative, emissions from EV’s to calculate. 0.5 x the number of Wh = the number of grams of CO2 per kilometre, it seems rather short-sighted.

But well. The owner of the EV received a fine of only 10,000 euros, while he was trying to get that same amount back to the TLA to get back because of its clean cart. Will be undoubtedly continued, Elon Musk is already on the height. (via: channelnewsasia.com)
