“Fin” McCloud is one of the six main characters on Stoked. She is fiercely independent and a major tomboy (with four bro’s), but also fun-loving and laid-back. She never backs down from a challenge and uses surf lingo on a regular basis. Fin has won first place in the Junior Surfing Competition three years in a row, and is ranked #56 in the world.     If you live on the East Cost and aren’t surrounded by the ocean 24/7 then you probably don’t have as many opportunities to surf. Skateboarding has the same principles as surfing, but on the ground. Take up skateboarding and get good at it, make sure you use some skater lingo.

    Choose clothes that allow you to become physically active at the drop of a hat. Jeans, t-shirts, and tennis shoes are always a good bet. High-heels, skirts, dresses and ‘pretty little pink hair clips’ are no-nos (most of the time) if you plan on doing anything physical that day. Before you leave the house, ask yourself: “If someone invited out skating, would I have to turn them down because of the way I’m dressed?” If the answer is yes, consider something else.

    Be physically active, especially with sports, and do it earnestly. Other than skateboarding. Throw yourself into the game, get in touch with your inner competitor, and don’t be afraid to break a sweat. Try a really cool sport like martial arts. You get a good workout, meet great people and learn something that you can really use. Especially a lot of brothers like Fin, you never know when you’ll have to wrestle for the remote or for the last slice of pizza. Be prepared.

    Don’t be boy crazy. Fin prefers waves to guys. No one’s asking you to avoid attraction to the opposite sex, Fin still got that love-hate thing with Reff. Just don’t make it the centerpiece of your focus. There’s much more to life than obsessing over guys.
