Buy the Mercedes 540K of Hermann Göring

If you are still looking for a classic with a questionable past, is the Mercedes-Benz 540K nazi Hermann Göring might be the place for you. An American restaurateur, has the car been restored and is now planning to auction off.

Göring was during the Second world War, at the head of the German air Force. He was sentenced to be hanged, but committed in 1946 suicide. His car was already for the end of the war taken by the Americans and then taken away, where the Mercedes was acquired by a collector.

The car was recently recovered by the restorers of High Velocity Classics. They soon found out that the owner in the seventies, a not too successful attempt at restoration had been undertaken. The 540K was found broken in pieces: the chassis, the seats and the engine were intact, the rest of the parts sat in boxes.

Now see it out as it should, and Mercedes the authenticity of the car attached. High Velocity wants the car now auction, but do not know exactly what the 540K must yield. A previous auction of one of Görings cars contributed 18 million euros. Since it is now a less exclusive model, will that amount will probably not again be extracted.
