Lovers have to one word is enough: ‘Alfaholics’. For the ignorant follows the explanation after the click.
Classic Alfaatjes from the 105-series, loved by fans for their looks, but also to those nice Nord-cubes that easily tickled. Or you put simply a slightly more modern Twin Spark in, of course, as in the case of this Spider ‘Coda Tronca’. Culprit is the British Alfa tuner Alfaholics, particularly known for their GTA replicas on the basis of the Giulia GT/GTV’s.
Alfaholics is a tuner of the old school. No quick fixes to the engine management or exhaust system, but every nut and bolt of the car lighter and better. What about a Twin Spark-lifting block with lighter pistons, a valve cover on a Nord block and seems to be a power of 216 hp? But not only the motor, the Alfa’s addressed, also suspension, brakes, exhaust, interior, and even sheet metal is adapted, improved and made lighter.
Normally they do so many compartments and normal Giulia’s, but Alfaholics wanted to show that even a Spider is perfect for a major upgrade. They went nuts on this Spider, which, up to the last screw broke. The bodywork was restored, reinforced and lightened with fibreglass bonnet and same boot. The engine is a tweeliter with electronically operated gasklephuizen, the chassis and remmerij come under the blessed Alfaholics GTA-R come from, just as the magnesium GTA-wheels. And that interior, with beautiful red Recaro’s and fine Momo-steering wheel… mama mia!
This beauty has its price: 80.000 British pounds, approximately 103.000 euros. That is quite the price for a Spider, but then you have the most beautiful, fastest and best riding instance to tackle. Not whining, just buy it.
