The Swedes have had it with that old-fashioned piece of technology.
You know, vroegâh… That you go to your car ran, the key in the door stuck, just had to run and then you could get in. To start went the same key (if you’re very modern, at least, otherwise you had two different instances) in the contact, who turned you on, and then started your engine. Later came the remote controls, start buttons and other devices for key by had to go, but as the Volvo is, we leave that time behind us.
They will go as the first cars without a physical key. You only need a appje on your smartphone to download and ready is Kees. The car recognizes your smartphone and throws the doors of the castle as you walk. And you can use that app on multiple phones, so that you woman/man/child does not have your phone with you to take if which is a piece of want to drive. In fact, you can even have several Volvo’s in that app, so you have 1 phone to an entire fleet can open. Handy for the police.
The Sweden start next spring with the testing of the app-key, next year will get the first limited batch of Volvo’s use of the system. If you are not in need of that newfangled junk, you can also just the old trusted key continue to order though, almost Volvo to report.
What I only wonder; what if your battery is? Or if the connection does not do? Then you have a problem. When my BMW key for example you can in case of emergency, a physical key from the cupboard and turn to yet still to open the doors if nothing more on the normal way it works. Curious how they’ll handle it.
