At the British International Motor Show 2008 presented by Opel for the Insignia. Compared with the previous model (the Vectra) is the Insignia not only 20 cm longer, but will also get a lot more exciting design fitted.

Also technology makes Opel leaps and bounds, so are under more verkeersbordherkenning and adaptive lights are available. Also there are versions with four-wheel drive, including the OPC versions. A nice detail of the Insignia OPC is that it is not 250 km/h is limited as most of the other Germans.

In the united states and China, the Insignia is sold under the name Buick Regal.

• 55% is a station (Sports Tourer).

Pros

• Sexier than the Vectra.
• Fine reisauto.

• Modern security systems.

Issues

• Coupe-like roofline makes the Insignia onoverzichtelijker, park distance is, therefore, a welcome option.
• Dual mass flywheel for manual diesels gives relatively fast in the spirit.
• Regeneration diesel particulate filter with diesel engines that a lot of short-distance drive.
• Creaking centre console.
• Electronic problems (most of them are by now with a software update to fix).
• A soft alarm for not wearing a seat belt sometimes sounds wrong. After restarting the engine is usually way.
• Operation climate control is not very exact (18 degrees cold, 19 degrees is very hot).
• The electric parking brake is sometimes activated.
• 1.4 T leak at water pump.
• 1.6 T transmission: humming sound when accelerating in first and second gear. Revision is then necessary.
• 4×4 versions: The Haldex coupling oil losses due to bad gaskets. Opel wrote an oil change and the link may be due to the loss of oil fail.
• Cover of the headlamp washers still want to ever loose touch.
• The air pipe from the clamp holders had come and by the acceleration that began to knock against the frame.
