    Gather the things you’ll need. For this to work, you’ll need to open your iTunes application on your computer. You’ll also need the data or lightning cable of your iPhone.

    Turn off the iPhone. Press and hold its Power/Lock button until its screen powers off to shut the smartphone down.

    Connect your iPhone to your computer. Press and hold your iPhone’s Home button and connect it to your computer using its data/lightning cable. Do not remove your finger from the Home button while you’re connecting your iPhone to a computer.

    • Pressing down the Home button while the device is turned off and connecting it to your computer will put your iPhone on Recovery Mode. You need to have the disabled iPhone in Recovery Mode in order to access it again.

    Wait for iTunes to detect your phone. Once iTunes detects your iPhone, a pop-up message will appear on the computer screen telling you that it has detected a phone in Recovery Mode.

    Restore the iPhone. Click the “Restore iPhone” button on the pop-up message, and iTunes will try to restore the settings of the phone back to its default settings.

    • Restoring your iPhone will only a few minutes. Once it’s done, you should be able to access your disabled iPhone once again.
