Citroen tries to clear the spotlight of Audi to steal, by the herdesign of the DS3 and DS3 Cabrio to focus on the lights.
That’s also the only one of the models is changed, the rest were the French apparently still completely happy with their design.
The new light clusters are inspired by the concepts Numéro 9 and Wild Rubis, and include LED modules which in turn are inspired by diamonds. Nice PR talk. Also there are sequential turn signals in the units, quite unique in this segment.
In the headlights there are 3 LED modules and one Xenon module, which is a lot more durable, and more energy-efficient than halogen bulbs (and a lot more expensive, but we got a Citroen is not about). The new lichtsignatuur is also backwards logic, where the LED taillights have a 3D effect. They feature a chrome-plated DS logo on a black background in relief. Pretty flourishes, but it looks nice.
Engines
For the 14%-fetisjist has Citroën a new block in the offer: the BlueHDi 100, with a version with just 79 g/km of CO2 emissions. This block we know also from the C4 Cactus.
If you want something more and are you willing 20% tax liability to pay, then there is the BlueHDi 120 with emissions of 94 g CO2/km. The engines consume, respectively, 3,0 l/100 km and 3.6 l/100 km. You would therefore the Citroen DS 3L can call it that, but then Volkswagen dealer. Both engines are 1.6-litre viercilinders.
For the doorrijder, there is still the DS3 Racing 207 hp engine, or as a middle ground, a THP 155 engine. Benzineschrapers go for the e-VTi 82 ETG (Efficient Tronic Gearbox, an electronically controlled manual transmission) PureTech with 95 gr/km emissions.
Personalisation remains important, the customer is given the possibility of a laser engraving on the dashboardpaneel and also a silk-screen printing on the side windows behind. Also comes botsvermijder Active City Brake available for the DS3.
