Currently there is a MG Midget (1966), in the garage, but that is poorly restored and shows cures. The time and energy into a complete restoration, they have not, so looking for a replacement and allowed the Midget to a new home.
A holiday house in the Ardennes, in the garage, a small British roadster in the form of a MG Midget 1966. Sounds great, but the MG seems in a much lesser state than thought. For the parents of Miguel, a reason to look for a replacement, once again, homeless. The budget amounts to 20,000 euros and for that money they would rather not MGB, Alfa Romeo Spider, let alone a homeless Beetle. It may be something more exciting and more interesting. Therefor, you’ve come to the right place! British and Italian are preferred, but we also have three fun alternatives found.

No-go models / brands:MG Midget, MGB, Alfa Romeo Spider, Beetle Cabrio
Austin-Healey Sprite
An Austin-Healey seems to be the parents of Miguel, but that fall outside the budget. At least, with the larger models. There was also still the Sprite. The second generation was also as -yes – MG Midget sold, but this cheerful Frogeye is a top Austin-Healey.
Triumph TR6
A descendant of the by Michelotti signed the TR5, but with a slightly less rounded design. This might be something cool in his appearance. Under the hood is a nice-sounding 2.5 six-in-line, which the British roadster to very decent helps performance.
Triumph Stag
The big brother of the above-TR6 and by the targa-construction is actually not a real roadster. Depress the accelerator pedal in and the sound of Triumph’s own V8 makes a lot of good. The blocks had, incidentally, a lot of problems, which, in many Stags a Rover V8 from the SD1. That is a bit cheaper in maintenance, but will the value of your car.
Renault Floride/Caravelle
An often forgotten roadster, built by the French at the urging of their U.s. dealers. in that time Renault sold namely the necessary Dauphines in the United States (who even made an electric version of developed!) and it is this Floride also based. The block is located to well-Renault-use in the back. After a few years its name was changed to Caravelle.
Peugeot 504 Cabriolet
In 1969, presented by Peugeot at Geneva, the Coupe and Cabriolet-version of the 504. Just as later in the 406, are the Coupe and Convertible pieces aansprekender than the saloon car on which they are based. First came the convertible with a 97 hp 2.0 four-cylinder engine, this was later injection and, in 1974, there is a 2.7 V6. This PRV engine was also in collaboration with Renault and Volvo developed and delivers in the 504 Cabriolet 136 hp. Strictly speaking, of course, not a roadster, but a convertible, but does that make a difference?
Fiat 124 Sport Spider
Recently presented by Fiat based on the MX-5 a new 124 Spider, this is the original from 1966. Under the hood is purely viercilinders, ranging from a 1.4 I to a tweeliter with turbo or supercharger. That last are rare. In 1983 stopped Fiat with the 124 Sport Spider, but Pininfarina built the roadster for another two years under his own name.
Datsun Fairlady
No, the MX-5 was certainly not the first Japanese Roadster, Datsun was Mazda almost thirty years too early. In 1960, presented his first Fairlady. This model you will be in our region is not or hardly encounter it, it is a rare and sought after classic. What Fairlady’s you can still find it, the Sports 1600 and Sports 2000. Certainly the Fairlady Sports 2000’s are rape carts, with their 130 or even 150 hp tweeliter four-cylinder and vijfbak.
