The edition “Kommersant” reported that operators MTS, MegaFon, Tele2 and “T2 RTK holding”, “Beeline” in the face of VimpelCom have formed an Alliance. The aim of the Alliance was the development of standard interfaces for IP interfaces messengers. About it journalists were reported by Vasil Latsanich, Vice-President of MTS on marketing.
On the idea of operators, the standard should help to resolve this incompatibility is to ensure that users of the same messenger can communicate with users of other instant messengers, not using a lot of different programs. And we are talking about the standard not only for operators of messengers, like MTS Connect.
The operators are losing money on SMS on the instant messengers like WhatsApp, Viber, Skype and Telegram, decided that with a new standard can give the state the ability to control services message exchange.
The Alliance was created in the framework of the working group Network 2020 GSMA in the organization at the end of 2015 and in early 2016, the GSMA met with Russian operators and the Ministry of communications. Moreover, the Ministry of communications has indicated its willingness to support the implementation of all-IP services. To all-IP services include such technologies as Voice-over-LTE, Voice-over-Wi-Fi, Video-over-LTE and Rich Communications Services.
