Between the crazy designs and modern hypercars keeps the Pebble Beach Concours d’elegance is a show for the most special classics. Here you go not save with an old Aston Martintje.

The Best of Show winner of this year’s edition is a *takes breath* Packard 1108 Twelve Dietrich Convertible Victoria from 1934. A car whose bodywork was done by coachbuilder Dietrich, and his automotive career in Puerto Rico began as a… taxi. Yep, with a V12 under the hood and a length of about 3 Kia Picanto’s, this was a nice people mover.

When he in 1968, was retrieved to the U.S. had the roestduivel been rigorously struck and he changed a number of times of owner. Ambitious klassiekerliefhebbers him, wanted to restore, but, gradually, no salvation more in saw. Then you know it. Eventually bought Joseph Cassini, the problems of another car in 2010, and dropped it by RM Restaurations in as new condition.

A word from the Pebble Beach chairman about this car:

“This Packard is the epitome of American style and grace in the Classic Era; it embodies that period. It is understated but elegant, and it has a striking but quiet presence. When it drove onto our show field this morning, and I stepped forward to greet the Cassinis, I could barely hear the engine running.”
