Google has announced that Chrome for Android 49 will feature, represented at 44 Chrome for iOS in July 2015. We are talking about the possibility to inform user devices about the so-called “Physical Web” — smart devices connected to the network, such as Parking meters or vending machines.
If on iOS the information was limited to the widget on the Today screen, on Android Chrome is available in more deep integration with the system. The browser can notify nearby smart devices with Bluetooth beacons and will allow them to transmit various information and URL to the smartphone. Testing opportunities will begin in the beta channel, and wider distribution will begin in the near future.
