Ruud Lubbers, had there been one before it’s cool.

Starting in 2014, enters also Volkswagen the niche market of fully electric vehicles. Their first strengths, the e-Up and e-Golf. The Leaf will start worrying?

The answer to that question, no one can give. It is true that the Golf has always been a bestseller, so the design appeals to the average car buyer. The performance is fairly identical to that of its Japanese competitor: the Wave (24,2 KWh) note a range of 190 km in the NEDC, the Leaf’s (24 KWh), which is 9 miles away.

Ultimately, stands or falls with the price, the e-Golf is not yet known (the first production copies out for the upcoming summer), but can potentially the German best what is market share in its segment to conquer. However, it remains a very small market. To illustrate: the Leaf is sold in its five-year existence of 10,000 cars in Europe, and 50,000 worldwide. There you turn not steep of sit as volumefabrikant.

For the buyer that would like to electric drive, but not so enamored of the progressive styling of, for example, the i3 or the separate styling of the Leaf is an option, but it remains a small supermarket. A pure EV makes the image more good than your sales figures.
