Tele2 launches HD Voice on 3G

Operator Tele2 has enabled HD-Voice technology in their 3G networks. The standard encoding of an audio signal provides for the transmission of voice traffic to high definition, improving the quality of voice calls and reducing distortion during the talk, including intonation and timbre.

Technology utilizes a wider range of sound frequencies (from 50 to 7000 Hz) than the standard method of encoding voice in 3G networks, which transfers the range of 300 to 3400 Hz.

At the moment Tele2 activated HD Voice in 34 regions of Russia, from Moscow. The operator plans to launch the technology in all of their 3G networks before the end of 2016.

The HD-Voice technology is already working in Moscow, Arkhangelsk, Belgorod, Bryansk, Vladimir, Vologda, Voronezh, Kaliningrad, Kaluga, Kemerovo, Kirov, Kostroma, Kursk, Lipetsk, Moscow, Murmansk, Novgorod, Omsk, Orel, Pskov, Rostov, Ryazan, Sakhalin, Smolensk, Tambov, Tver, Tomsk, Tula region, as well as in the republics of Adygea, Karelia, Komi, the Udmurt Republic, the Krasnodar and Krasnoyarsk edges.
