On EV’s and plug-in hybrids is a great deal of subsidy in the form of BPM – and (still) motor vehicle tax-exemption, but in addition, also the official prices of the stekkerbakken sharply down, except in the Netherlands. How about that?
In a feat of unadulterated anger, pulling the pink neighbors of GeenStijl on the Ampera of leather against Opel Nederland. A Quality Edition costs in the Netherlands prior to BPM and subsidiekorting 48.295 euro (incl vat). But in neighbouring countries Belgium and Germany (and Romania and America) has Opel the prices of Ampera’s recently reduced: over there they just 39.900 euro (incl. vat) with the same equipment. Bam, that is thick 8k difference on the retail price. Fortunately, there is the Dutch taxpayer who is allowed to help paying for all these subsidies: “to us in foreign countries substantial price cuts, but Opel the Netherlands, because the government is already quite meelapt in terms of subsidy, so why would we put our profit margin is broken?”
Now it is in one sense, united to see the words ‘Opel’ and ‘profit center’ (the group already has 15 years made a profit) all the best gniffelwaardig, but the question is whether Opel are Ampera-customers really is the skin about the ears pull. After all, an official price is one thing, but we all know that the last time best some discount to score with the Dutch dealers, although these themselves may differ.
From GM (the parent company of Chevrolet and Opel, which the Volt and Ampera) is even more considerable in the direction of the dealers are pushed to this year and what extra copies of the COTY 2012 to sell. After all, putting now one plate, and you drive from 2014 wegenbelastingvrij. This benefit expires January 1, a.s.
Just a little bit rondsnorren teaches us that, in certain cases, indeed generous rebates to be provided: this gentleman, for example, received 10 mille discount, albeit at Chevrolet, making the new price at 38.000 euro came out. Bam, thick 2k difference on the retail price between us and the neighbours (where he 39.900 euro cost).
But well, these are specific cases, and we would like the policy of Opel the Netherlands know. Unfortunately we got the PR-manager to address (rather logical, in such a unchristian time of day) so that keeps much of our credit. It is, however, that in the Netherlands there ogeveer 3x as much Ampera’s if Volts are sold, so the question is whether Opel is much higher with his prices. For the same product a lot more pay is not so Dutch.
UPDATE: The European price cut for the Ampera is specifically made for a selected number of European markets and especially the markets where few or no governmental regulation is present. This to the introduction of electric drive there an extra push/boost. In addition, the reason that Opel currently, when you purchase an Ampera already a maximum klantvoordeel of approximately 11,500 euro can offer, consisting of free charging stations, etc. In relation to Europe determines Opel Holland has its own pricing strategy, on the basis of the specific Dutch market conditions and the current competitive position.
