De V40 (en V60 PHEV) legde Volvo geen windeieren
The month of september is over, time to look what’s new the dealer has left. In contrast to all previous months this year the figures, but do not start too hard to cheer. In addition, some brands are significantly better than the other.

Where we have become accustomed to figures of -30 %, september was quite mild: compared to the same month in 2012, there was only a minnetje of 1.4 % note. According to figures from the RDC, edited by Aumacon were 31.504 new cars delivered across 31.951 pieces in september 2012. This means that we have finally found the way to the top smashed? Not at all.

Until August 2012, there were 395.287 cars sold, while over the whole year 502.644 pieces were delivered. An average of ‘only’ 26.840 cars per month over the last quarter or so. If you outlet at an average of 49.410 sell in months, then you understand that the flattening decline what flattered.

We go a level deeper, we see that the importers/dealers mutual, to varying degrees, suffer from declining sales.

‘Budget‘ and green brands to strengthen position

Volvo, Mitsubishi and Dacia are the few brands that their market share saw increase, Volvo with 48% (hi, V40!), Dacia even 73%, although the brand in terms of size is still a pretty small player. They rank, respectively, on place 10 (in 2012: 13), 20 (23), and 22 (26) of the largest vendors in the Netherlands.

In the corner where the blows fall we find Opel, and Hyundai. Opel supplies in 2013 20% market share in, and dropped from place 4 to 7 on the verkoopranglijst, Hyundai loses a whopping 30% and kukelt from the top 10, from place 9 to 13. A place which, incidentally, is filled by BMW, that the highest ranking luxury brand.

As the end of the year comes into view, we predict a big jump for Mitsubishi, as 78% of their customers that the Outlander PHEV has ordered, they will be delivered in 2013.

In the rest of the brands will the same trend continue. Perhaps mitigates the new i10 Hyundai’s make, and for the next few years they bemmende modellenoffensief still in the barrel, sitting of course.

For 2014 expect the Bovag and the Rai association that there is again more to be sold. Just went there a prediction of 400,000 new cars out the door, 20.000 more than the prediction for this year.

Fellow EU countries France and Spain, recorded on september a plus, respectively. 3% and 29% (that last thanks to a government incentive program).

Finally, the top 5 of the largest brands in 2013:

1) Volkswagen (1)
2) Renault (2)
3) Ford (5)
4) Peugeot (3)
5) Toyota (6)
