BMW M2 render
The production will start in 2015 and the toy will not get a four-cylinder turbo, but a six-in-line turbo. These are two of the latest rumours out of Munich. And there is more news.

The new M2 would be in the fall of 2015, going into production and so the end of next year or early 2016 when the first customers on the sidewalk. There was by BMW is considered to be a four-cylinder turbo in the front to push (a derivative of the future B48 engine family that S48 would be called) but those plans have been scrapped. There is “just” a N55 (N55B30T0) six-in-line in the successor of the 1M, a block that according to sources within BMW 370 to 380 hp need to go spit out. More also will not be able to because then comes the whole way too in close proximity to the M4 in terms of performance.

About the 1M: that was, of course, in the first instance in a limited edition (2,700) built but, ultimately, would be that there are over 6700. The M2 will, in a limited edition to be built. The 1M had at the time as codename within BMW “Pyrat”, and the M2 would, therefore, now Pyrat2 be called, the official name for the M2, however, will F87. The reason that BMW is still nothing officially confirmed that may, incidentally, be clear: there must be something M235i’s worn.
