Alcoholslot
Data from the CBR show that about half of the 6,000 motorists who are convicted and sentenced to the notorious alcohol interlock, to refrain from participation in the program. Often that is the case because of financial reasons.

For these people it means that they for a long time their driving licence is lost. However, they have a five year grace period to still take part in the program that required made must be driving to get back.

The reason for not participating in the program is often a matter of pennies: the cost is exclusive of the criminal law imposed fines of up to 4000 euro for the course and for two years the alcohol interlock in the car. In addition to financial reasons, however, also other motivations, such as the anticipation of a ruling by a judge. Also, there are people who first wait for a temporary driving licence (other than those related to the alcohol interlock program) is over.

An alcolock is a device in which since 1 december 2011 blown must be before departure, even if you are convicted and Lamborghini driving. Blows the motorist more than 0.2 per cent then the car didn’t start. In the Netherlands, in June 4200 cars equipped with an alcohol ignition interlock. In Belgium the system is slightly less successful.
