Long before the 924 and 944 for the first time saw the light by their klapogen, there was the original VoPo. No, we mean not the Volkspolizei, but the Porsche 914. That is very cool, proves this instance.
The 914 was actually more or less the Boxster of the early ’70s. Mid-engine, rear-wheel drive, a removable Targa roof, these are all elements in which you as a car enthusiast warm. Add a Porsche baaaaaaaadge and it is all good. Except in this case, because the Porsche badge is hung from the start as a block to the leg of the 914.
As with the later 924 and 944 with their vierpitters in the cabin, is home to the carriage of a standard 914 namely quite what Volkswagen technique. The basismotoren came straight from the shelves of Volkswagen. Only the rare 914/6 had a zespitter of real Porsche origin under the hood. Actually did the Volkswagen genes, of course, none of the advantages of the 914, but in Porsche circles, is this practice still at least ‘frowned upon upon’.
The project that we today came across, however, shows what a good base the 914 is a brutal unit if you add some extra Porsche genes to add. The motor in this black bolt was replaced by a 3.2 litre six-cylinder engine from a 911 Carrera, and also the rest of the powertrain and the chassis have been addressed. To the whole optical what meaner, the removable roof panels replaced by a hardtop and the klapkoplampen removed. The overall picture is completed by a set of Fuchs rims, which, of course, very well fit in with this Porker.
Approximately 200 hp, 1,000 pounds of light, achterwielaandrijving…De car is currently on sale in the sunny Californ-I-A. feel The heat can also be in the gallery.
