A little about that partnership between Toyota and BMW: there is good news from Japan!

Since BMW and Toyota early last year express the intention to jointly develop fuel cells and sports cars to diving, we have already a lot of rumours passing by, but there is a tangible product or even a commitment about a new model have not yet been the case.

What we do have is a reliable source, the Japanese Nikei, which claims that Toyota and BMW shared a common platform to develop where both the new Supra, if the next Z4 on will be based. The two sports cars do purely subcutaneous to platform sharing, they each receive a own outside. The cooperation is thus not to compare with the Toyota/Subaru deal, which led to the near-identical GT86/BRZ.

According to the Japanese newspaper the cars in 2017 on the market, and that is in line with earlier statements by chief engineer Tetsuya Tada.

The ingredients of the next Supra/Z4 are obvious: rear-wheel drive, two doors, two sport seats, and both a private smoelwerk. Or both brands, big proponents of elektrificering and grinders, also the H-word are going to use in the iteration of the sports cars is not yet known. We are happy that the name ‘Supra’ back to life. It is too long has been quiet around that icon.
