Gespot: een oude Vanden Plas in hartje Rotterdam
A creation of one of the most famous body-builders from Belgium.

What in the nineteenth century began as an ordinary rijtuigbouwer, grew to be one of the major coachbuilders of the 20th century. The most they might still become with the conversion of the Austin Sheerline. The British car brand knocked by Vanden Plas for a more luxurious version, for the elite who like gechauffeerd were.

Apparently pleased with the work of Vanden Plas, they do, because in 1946 – a year after the first Sheerline was converted – they were taken over by Austin. The model went first as Austin A120 Princess by life, later on, the name Austin is sure to fall and it became a more self-contained brand. Under the hood was a six cylinder in-line engine is laid, with 3.909 cc and 193 hp.

An extended version of the Vanden Plas Princess was recently by @Sjoerd95 spotted in Rotterdam. View the photos on Autojunk.
