Mitsubishi assumes no fully new concept car to Geneva, but presents us with a revamped version of a well-known concept. This hint to a smaller plug-in under the Outlander PHEV.

The name -Mitsubishi Concept XR-PHEV II – indicates that there is also an earlier version of this concept car is, and that’s true. At the Tokyo Motor Show in november 2013 showed Mitsubishi also all of a XR-PHEV concept. At the time, there was a 1.1 three-cylinder MIVEC turbo under the hood, linked to a single electric motor on the front axle. This is in contrast to the current Outlander PHEV, both on the front and on the rear axle electric motor. By the way, this XR_PHEV II is not so much a hint for a successor of the Outlander PHEV, but rather to a smaller model under the in our country, as popular plug-in suv.

What is there this year for fuel engine lurks under the revamped look of the concept car is not known, however, that a newly developed electric motor is good for 163 hp. The battery is good for 12 kWh, and combined would the emissions have to come in at around 40 grams of CO2 per kilometre.
