Colleague Rico called the ELR, Cadillacs strakgelijnde plug-in hybrid coupe, at the time of Geneva the best reason not to Ampera/Volt to drive. We now have, however, a reason to yet, but for the latter, namely, the (Us) list price of the ELR.
This is with $75.995 approximately twice that of the Ampera/Volt, a big mountain of money for a plug-in with a 1.4 liter vierpittertje and an electric range of 56 km. For less money you can buy in the US for a BMW 740i or a big CTS, and I think I know which of these cars to the average American is more appealing.
Can you remember anything more of dollars on a car smash, then you buy a Tesla Model S, a pure electric with the same range as that of the ELR with its electric motor and range extender, combined. The ELR seems to me so a bit of a ‘wal-and-ship-model’, but perhaps it is this vision too pessimistic.
Cadillacs first production plug-in (based on the Converj Concept) in the US from January 2014 in the sale, thanks to some milieusubsidies is the price still a piece of printed. I wonder how much there is over the counter.
The car, which its powertrain with the above-mentioned Volt share, coming in 2014 to Europe, although more details still need to be made.
