The famous stuntman Hal Needham broke into his life more bones than anyone, was twice near death, and tried to break the world record speed breaking. Unfortunately he is no more.
Maybe you know him from movies such as ‘Have Gun’, ‘How the West Was Won’, ‘The Bridge at Remagen ” or one of the other 327 films and 4,500 series of episodes in which he performed. Needham jumped before, from airplanes and cars and won the various prizes. Also, he directed well-known actietitels as ‘Smokey and the Bandit’ and ‘The Cannonbal Run’. The attempt to the speed record on land to break failed, however, he was the happy owner of a NASCAR team; Harry Gant’s No.33.
It was his passion to other stuntmen. Many of today’s balancing carcrashers, springmeneren and vliegtuigduikers have had lessons from the master. Last year he received an Oscar for his successful career. He did not long enjoy it, Friday night, he died at the age of 82 from the effects of cancer.
