The shape of the satellite resembled a prism with dimensions of 107 inches high and 56 – at, and weighed 304 pounds. On the body were placed solar panels used to charge 21 Nickel-cadmium battery inside the body. On the upper and lower ends were two cameras, which eventually became the most unreliable components. They went down eight months after launch. However, formally, the satellite was still working – it was deactivated on 8 may 1967.

The design of the case was present an airtight container under pressure of 1.2 atmosphere, where the radio system, program-temporary device, the battery thermal control system and some measuring devices. Before the successful landing of the “Luna-9” in the USSR made ten attempts, but none of them failed. Data received from the interplanetary station confirmed the “meteor-slag” theory of the structure of the outer cover of the moon. In addition, with her help, managed to get the measurements of the intensity of radiation and the panorama of the lunar landscape near the landing site.

February 3, 2000, Microsoft officially revealed the name of the new consumer OS – Windows Millenium Edition (Windows ME). And its release took place in September of the same year. The operating system was designed for customer needs, and was designed to replace Windows 98. However, as always, the reaction was very mixed. Microsoft has been criticized for the extremely low stability of the OS, as well as for the wrong job advertised new feature.

To bridge this gap Microsoft has left nearly two months. In Russia Windows ME was not the most popular, many people moved from Windows 98 to Windows 2000, and Windows XP. Support ME officially discontinued in the summer of 2006.
