Sale stekkerauto’s Q1: VW on top, BMW i8 popular

In recent months there has been a change of power occurred at the top of the verkooplijstjes. Volkswagen takes the Golf GTE-second lead over the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Also notable is the popularity of the Porsche Cayenne, Mercedes S500 and BMW i8.
VWE Trendweb has all new registrations of cars with a plug in a overview posted, and in it we see confirmed what we already expected: the Volkswagen Golf GTE is the new most popular plug-in hybrid of our country, in favor of the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Not that they are at Mitsubishi Netherlands in sackcloth and ashes will sit, with 1226 copies in three months, the semi-electric SUV still like the proverbial hot cakes over the counter. Add to this the fact that the brand recently launched the facelifted Outlander presented -that the sale is undoubtedly an impulse is going to give – and there’s little reason to grief at the importer.
Except for the Outlander and Golf, it is the Volvo V60 Plug-In Hybrid and the Audi A3 e-tron that is still somewhat to keep up. Between place four and six operates Porsche with the Cayenne S E-Hybrid in a kind of no man’s land. Both the hole between the Audi 4 and the BMW i3 with Range Extender in 6th place is significant. Yet it is amazing that Porsche with a niche model like the Cayenne such relatively good sales is able to achieve. It is also remarkable that both the Mercedes-Benz S500 Plug-in HYBRID as the BMW i8, respectively 52 and 47 instances for such cars sell well. BMW has with the 149.000 euro-dollar i8 even one of the most popular sports cars of the Netherlands in the house! At the bottom of the list dangles one Fisker Karma. That brand is long gone away, but seems to be working hard on a comeback. Inquiries with the importer and dealer Korymans taught us that these new registered Karma, however, still a voorraadmodel is of the ‘old’ batch.

Electric cars
We see in the sales of plug-in hybrids some interesting changes compared to last year, when the fully electric cars is a bit quieter. There were also relatively few new models. The relatively new models that are out there, the electric Mercedes B-Class and Kia Soul EV score then again no great numbers. Biggest outlier is Smart with the electric Fortwo, which is the only one still in the neighborhood can come out of the biggest number 1 (Tesla Model S) and the eternal second (Nissan Leaf). That comes, incidentally, mostly by an order of Car2Go, the organization for electrical deelauto’s going in a years time 350 of its electric Smarts replaced.
