Belgium, going to stations to better protect

BRUSSELS –

Belgium wants its stations to better protect. Minister of Mobility Jacqueline Galant, the government has asked for this 58.5 million euros to make.

With the money, the minister wants to 295 gates and 257 scanners have to have to check luggage. That writes La Libre Belgique on Tuesday.

Minister, Galant, confirmed in september, after the foiled attack on a Thalys high-speed train between Brussels and Paris in August, that they have more control installations such as entrance gates wanted in the stations.

The international stations of Brussels-South, Central, North -Schuman just like Antwerp Central and Berchem and Liège-Guillemins priority for the new security installations. For major national stations and local stations, there are also temporary installations.
