Minister Schultz van Haegen is planning the speed limit on the A12 to increment to 130 km/h. The involved municipalities throw now, however, a spanner in the works.
And that’s striking, because soot is just one of the reasons for the municipalities not to use the plans to agree. The municipalities of Utrecht, Woerden, Montfoort and Bodegraven-Reeuwijk are afraid of increased noise and degradation of air quality. Together with the province of Utrecht had a notice of objection to Minister Schultz.
In addition to the aforementioned arguments, the municipalities are afraid of an increase of the traffic jams, particularly at the junctions, Lunettes and Oudenrijn. On roads leading from the A12 should be only 80 km/h to be driven, which, according to the municipalities problem.
