The C30 is now out of the showrooms of Volvo disappeared. At least, out of the corner with the new cars, because, of course, there is still a second-hand offer.
The C30 was built on a shortened chassis of the Volvo V50, which is also the basis for the S40 (or Ford for the Focus). Also in the engine line-up there is a large overlap. The car was intended as a spiritual successor to the 480, and if we further dig into the past of the Swedish brand’s P1800. Some references to these cars are the low continuous rear window and the lack of a in this class usual back seat. Instead, the C30 two chairs in the back. The C30 was like a nice premium car in the market and therefore had to compete with cars like the Audi A3 and BMW 1 Series.
The Volvo C30 received in 2010 a facelift. From a motor perspective, there was a choice of petrol engines ranging from 100 to 230 hp and diesel engines ranging from 109 to 180 hp.
Offer used cars
- On AutoScout24 are at the time of writing, 392 C30’s for sale.
- 50% offer is diesel, 50% gasoline.
- Only 3% is automatic, the rest is transmission.
- 35% is equipped with leather upholstery.
- 69% is equipped with cruise control.
- Colors are unfortunately rare, only 22% is not black, grey or white.
- Prices start at around 6000 euro. The prices run on up to around €17,000 euro’s for a young, fresh copy.

Issues
- The cars of the 2007 model year sometimes had problems with the ESP. This had to do with a fault in the ABS unit (which is from Bosch). Volvo replaced these parts usually free, but if the ESP light is on in the dashboard, you know which it probably is. Let the seller fix this before the sale.
- Crankcase ventilation system of the five cylinder petrol engines is sometimes problematic. There is a newer version of the oliefilterhuis for. The old is identifiable by a ribbed hose, this will stretch. Continue with a whistle means that the motorontluchting through the krukaslagers takes place, which ultimately will make for a broken motor.
- The hulpcilinder of the link want to still be leaking, that is 1 with the thrust bearing, so the bowl must be removed to replace it. It may be wise to have the link immediately to replace.
- Gestotter is often caused by the brandstofdruksensor that at the end of its life cycle group. This costs €70 to €80 euro and it is a quarter of an hour of work to replace. Can make all kinds of stotterklachten problems, even before they are bad enough for an error message.
- If you have a worn cv joint (tapping in max to submit and, ultimately, imbalance while driving), you can find no loose parts to get. Only solution is a complete shaft from Volvo. the left costs about €460 euros, the court of €510 euro.
