‘Refugees cost Germany 50 billion’

COLOGNE –

The vluchtelingendossier cost Germany this year and in 2017 a total of almost 50 billion euro. This is the cost for accommodation, meals and integration – and language courses. This is evident from a forecast of the Institute of the German Economy in Cologne.

This year the cost at 22 billion euros calculated. If the number of asylum seekers that Germany is coming to 2.2 million increases, there will be more next year, almost 28 billion euros. If expectations become reality, this means that the German minister of Finance Wolfgang Schäuble (CDU), at the latest in 2017, new loans must be shut down, it analyzes the institute.

The German minister of the Interior Thomas de Maizière is Monday in Afghanistan for consultations, including on the vluchtelingencrisis in Europe. More than 150,000 Afghans have been last year in Germany registered as asylum seekers. In 2014 there were still so’n 97.000. Only from Syria attracted more people to Germany.
