Disintegrating Fabian Oefner
The Swiss photographer Fabian Oefner presents two new series of photographs called Disintegrating and Hatch. In the starring role of classic sports cars that are “born” and “explode” in a beautiful way.

No CGI, these photos are part for part made and assembled into one work of art. For the series of Disintegrating took Oefner models from each other and then with the help of transparent wires and needles and the parts in such a way to float that it seems as if the cars explode. A Jaguar E-Type, Ferrari 330 P4 and Mercedes 300 SLR Uhlenhaut coupé by Oefner in this way recorded.

In the series, the Hatch, the photographer understand latex molds made of model cars and then a small layer of plaster to pour and place it on the model piece to throw. This way it looks on the photo as if the auto from a kind of natural scale breaks like a chick from an egg, which the photographer seems to want to say that cars are living, breathing organisms instead of machines. A making-of video of the series is here.
