And that has a reason.
Do you know that advertising of the first Citroën C4? That car was transformed into the commercial to a funny robot. Used therefor, the brand is a computer animation. British-Indian artist Hetain Patel found that but a coward and went on with his Ford Fiesta to work. See here the real-life Fiesta Tranformer.
Hetain was 17 years old when he of his hard-earned pennies, an old Ford Fiesta bought, not knowing that he there is ever a robot would make. That happened when he was a few years later inspired and touched by the film series Transformers, and a link there saw with his own life.
Are saw and welder turned three months working overtime to make this result. Hetain used only the original parts, but got some help from a friend lijkenwagenbouwer.
Fun course, about 2.5 metres high, robotic piece of steel, but without meaning is not art. And that is so beautiful to Hetain’s work of art, it has an underlying story.
The attitude of the robot establishes a link with the poverty in India, the homeland of Hetain. People have there often no furniture and sit in this posture in order to even somewhat comfortably spend the day. The transformer must thus pay attention to that situation but at the same time a symbol of the mutability of life. Hetain’s immigration to Europe took literally for a ‘transformation’ of his life.
With that in mind, look, you’re very different to the crazy welded together ‘wreck’. Until 22 december the artwork on a French exhibition; Galleria Continua. (via autobild.de)
