The rumors are true! Lamborghini is taking its first steps in the elektrosegment and stormed the world with a 910-hp strong monster. Ritz, P1 and 918 Spyder, they’re coming for you!
And then the bad news: it’s still a concept.
The Asterion LPI 910-4 is the first hybrid of the brand, and immediately the other one with a connector, either a plug-in. The 5.2 liter V10 with 610 horsepower, the Huracan combined with three electric motors, which collectively 300 hp deliver. The result is a straatsteenvergruizende 910 horsepower in total. You can thanks to the elektropakket of 250 kg a distance of up to 50 kilometers completely electric bridge, where the reaction starts at 125 km/h.
If all sources of power work together is the Asterion LPI 910-4 – indeed, with an ‘I’ – in three seconds to the 100 km/h. The top speed is 320 km/h. With such figures, delft, the Asterion the victor in a battle against his elektroconcurrenten from the hypercarsegment, but according to CEO Stephan Winkelmann, their car is more made for “comfortable luxury daily cruising than for circuitbezoekjes. Something that is also clear from the positioning of the two seats: fairly high.
Two of the three electric motors are located in front of the Asterion, where they have the front wheels driving. The third model is between the V10 and the seven-speed gearbox placed. A set-up that very much has similarities with the Porsche 918 Spyder. In the Asterion you can use buttons on the steering wheel from three driving modes to choose from: ‘Z’ for zero local-emission, or fully electric, in ‘I’ (= Ibrido, Italian for hybrid) you put him in the hybridestand, and the last position is ‘T’ Termico (thermal). Power for the three electric motors comes from a lithium-ion battery, placed under the middle of the cabin.
The electrification of the Asterion has gusntige figures on the CO2 emissions. In the NEDC comes according to the Italians to 98 grams of CO2 per kilometre. Thus, it is a lot cleaner than the Huracan (290 g/km) and the Aventador (370 g/km).
UPDATE: we have two short videos of the unveiling, one in hybrid mode, and one with a brutal sound.
