Kia Optima T-Hybrid showcases his electric supercharger

Do something crazy and make of your Optima T-Hybrid a glorified peep show.

Kia takes Paris nice with this hybrid Optima. Under the hood is a 1.7-liter CRDi turbo-diesel that is a healthy 136 hp supplies. This power source will in turn help a 48V lead-carbon battery, electric motor and an electric supercharger, which is all together a ability produces 170 horsepower with a torque of 380 Nm.

Now that sounds on paper (or screen) all great fun, but a real petrolhead will of course see how that under the hood looks like. Or something like that. In any case, this Optima T-Hybrid features a see-through, so it’s quiet in the gallery to see how the Koreans all that technology under the hood may have water cooling.

The electric supercharger is meant for the torque at lower revs a little push in the back, all you can wonder whether that zelfontbrander really needed. The choice fell on a lead-carbon battery, because according to Kia, no active cooling is needed and is also easier to recycle than a lithium-ion battery.

Kia is aiming for with this T-Hybrid at an even lower fuel consumption than that of the ordinary hybrid Optima (around 10%). Sounds all quite progressive, but unfortunately makes it not a ball is out or you are attracted to the whole idea or not. Kia has already indicated that there is currently no plans to put the car into production.
