Alfa Barnfind
In the basement of a ruined castle in Belgium were even some classic Alfa Romeos from the 60s. No Berlina’s, but beautiful coupe’s and Spiders. After years of rest and rust, the forgotten classics, now under the hammer.

The story goes that the collection belonged to two brothers. She had an eye for beautiful cars, but not for money. The castle that their father had inherited was in decline and eventually explained to the Belgian government confiscated the estate. And since then, the Alfa’s collecting dust. Not only that, but also the roestduivel burps well in a service and a ruined castle. Rust is lighter then carbon fibre, such as a friend with a classic Alfa forgiving would say.

Alfa Barnfind

From basement to concoursstaat

For years it was thought that the car’s too far gone for restoration, but as you know, have the prices for special classic cars –particularly those from forgotten sheds– taken flight. Also, the moment that this Giulietta/Giulia Sprint speciale, Giulia 1600 Spider and Giulietta Coupe’s cost-effective to refurbish, seems to come. At least, that is the idea of the current owner of the collection, because who has decided the cars out of the basement and through a public sale to a new owner, to help.

Except for the Alfa’s, there’s also a mysterious aluminum racing car sold, as well as two Honda Accord Coupe’s and boxes full of Alfa goodies. Of hubcaps and send to complete Nord-motorblokjes. Even the lovers of nautica get their money, with two old racebootjes. The only pity is that the selling party can continue so little information. Then you must be 20 next June but have a look at the Belgian Rule. Watch can of 10 to 14, then the whole zwik sold.

Cost-effective?

Although particularly the Sprint Special is high on my list of most beautiful cars ever, but the question of whether these two instances, and with her the other Alfa’s, really restorable, or that ultimately the donors will be. Somewhere it is a shame that the mystique of the lost Alpha-collection, now lost. Fortunately, we have the photos yet.
