Will there ever come of it: Formula 1 cars where the driver is safely hidden under a headlight fairing? Should it come to that, then it would be that there is just so may go see.
In 2009, the racing world shortly after another rocked by two violent accidents. Both F1 driver Filipe Massa and F2 driver Henry Surtees were hit by flying parts from other cars. Mass was severely injured and recovered, Surtees died on the spot, to the consequences of the crash. Reason for the FIA to try to examine or a dome, on a jet plane (canopy) solution would offer.
Although these tests quite successfully lay people, it is there yet not come and the rumors about F1 cars with roofs to the background disappeared. Not at Andries van Overbeeke, who wondered how a Formula 1 car with such a canopy would look like. Fortunately, Andries the necessary skills so that his ideas easily to the digital paper could translate.
Because existing brands are now once more to the imagination than a self-made team, dressed them up Andries the cars as McLaren. Thus we see, for the second time in a short time, a vision of a future McLaren F1 car. What you see rather in the near future about the circuit racing, this or the tough and angular concept of last?
Andries van Overbeeke is an artist/designer and seen his hometown (Delft) you might suspect, also a former student of Industrial Design at the TU Delft. Nothing is less true, because Andrew has medications studied… Check also his portfolio, with future Red Bull F1’s and paintings of several Formula 1 drivers. Also it was Andrew, along with brother Marco, was involved in the Silvermine 11SR, a sports car of their own soil.
