Dutch car industry going forward again

If you in recent years get rich quick wanted to, it was doing business in the automobile business, not a tempting option. The sector was affected by shrinkage, and there was no dry bread to earn. But we are on the way back. Sort of..

The CBS presented this morning kwartaalmonitor Car and Motorcycles, showing a mixed picture emerged. Yes, the industry is in Q1 2015 gone forward, but especially the moped and busjesverkopers. The bedrijfsautobranche rose 11%, while the motorcycles, even a jump of 15%.

Importers suffer

On the other side of the spectrum we find the importers that are 2.5% for registered, and also the autoservicebedrijven (-1,3%) kept the feet dry. The personenautobranche consolidated, with a minor increase of 0.8%.

More confidence

However, the CBS is positive: business confidence rose for the first time since the beginning of 2014, the number of unfilled vacancies rose to the highest level since 2011, and the number of bankruptcies in the automotive and motorcycles decreased again.

In short: there seems to be some light at the horizon to glow, but the fat years are still not back. Or this’ll ever happen is still the question, unless you are in a very profitabele niche of very expensive exclusive cars, the sandwich is a bit thicker to invest.
