“Three snowflakes, and the whole of the Netherlands is fixed‘. If you have the last 20 years, not under a stone to have located, then you know this mantra, no doubt. TomTom try to the trouble now to go through his navigatiesuggesties to fit on ‘current weather conditions’.
The philosophy behind this is that if drivers are better informed about the weather conditions, which for them are, they are on time, choose a faster route to their destination. Ralf-Peter Schäfer, head of TomTom Traffic:
“Thanks to the knowledge of the exact traffic situation on the whole road network, we can always help you to for people the fastest route to their destination calculate [..] we know that bad weather is unpredictable and can cause delays. By taken into account, we can still provide more sophisticated predictions about the route that drivers take it.”
Here it seems to me, indeed, nothing against it, if you are in a car, can you lock an account, not every minute of your radar to check out. The shortcomings are, of course, also recommend that: some local fronts move quickly and unpredictably, and as soon as the whole of the Netherlands under so much snow is that everyone spontaneously ‘Informer’ begins to sing, you have nothing more to. Unless you extremely take a detour.
Figures
TomTom presented today quarterly figures: the number of automotive orders was at a record high of €170 million, the estimate of the annual turnover is between €930 and €950 million, slightly higher than first estimated.
