Mercedes C-Klasse AMG (W205)
It does not seem that Mercedes much in a hurry to be the successor of the C63 AMG (on the basis of the new C-Class) to launch.

Just for a moment we had the hope that Mercedes within a few months the new winner of the C-Class range would be present, just as in the previous generation, but that’s probably not in. AMG chief Tobias Moers has in Detroit reveals that we are still “approximately” a year must wait on the C-Class AMG.

With respect to the engine showed mr. Moers is still the following lines:

“You are now familiar with our 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine? Well you can imagine what happens when you put two of those together.”

So from that there is indeed a 4.0 V8 with turbo (s) under the hood. This presumption had been longer, but there was always still the possibility that Mercedes would opt for the 5.5-liter V8 of the E63, S63, etc.

About the amount of horsepower that this V8 is going to deliver wanted Tobias have nothing to lose, but he confirmed that it’s just a little more than the competition. Since the M3/M4 431 hp and the RS4/RS5 450 hp, we assume you have at least 460 hp. With an optional Peformance Pack would be nice the 500 hp tapped.

12 months to wait and we can find the successor of the C63 AMG in the flesh to admire. (via: autoexpress.co.uk)
