Yes, this car has Renault really produced. Between 1981 and 1987 rolled this crazy cart, called the Renault Rodeo, the band.
In 1968, Citroën with the well-known Mehari, a plastic badkuipje on the chassis of a 2CV. “We can do that,” they thought of Renault, and in 1970 they presented the Rodeo 4. This was, hence the name, on the chassis of the Renault 4 and a similar body suspiciously at the Mehari. Two years later, the Rodeo 6 to strengthen the ranks. Still on the chassis of the Renault 4, but the 845cc-block out of that car was replaced for the 1.1 from the Renault 6.
Despite the fact that the Renault Rodeo 4 and 6 are not as successful as the Citroën Mehari, the French still with a new generation on the come up. This seemed to be already a lot less on the Mehari. To be precise: the new Renault Rodeo seemed to make no sense at all. Lemon remained cheerful the Hotel is in the same form, produce to 1988, while the Rodeo back in 1987, at the end of his life.
The cart was, like his predecessors, in Teilhol screwed together. In 1984, there was even, briefly, a 4×4 version available, the Rodeo Hoggar. Success of the Renault Rodeo is not and a successor continues. Raoul Teilhol therefore has capacity and designs on the basis of Citroen 2CV6-engineering is a more modern interpretation of the Mehari and the Rodeo. Again, without much success, by the way, in 1990, the factory bankrupt.
If you and you wonder why the Renault Rodeo, along with a Jeep Wrangler on the photo: Renault was in the 80’s, a long-time owner of Jeep and sold the cars in some countries through its own sales channels.
