The new Fiat 500 is a fun little car and a big hit, but he doesn’t come close to the charm of his ancestor. Fortunately drive also still copies around, one of our spotters got 2 for the lens in Amsterdam.
It is all very nice and hip as a new 500, but at the same time, we have a lot to be efficient and reliable, because it (a) 50 years younger and b) not by Italians, but Poland is being built. And this quality, eh excuse me: that lack of ‘character’, translates into o.a. a lack of rusty panels and ignition problems, so you Fiatje never once old-fashioned can uitfoeteren in the morning.
A few Cinquecento’s have stood the test of time, however, wonderfully weathered and were recently on an Amsterdam wharf. Quattromeister made the following series of photographs, in moody black-and-white, with as a bonus a combo with an old Beetle on the other side of the water. KLIKKERDEKLIK!
