Audi’s fastest beast ever: the R8 Competition gets 570 hp

The Audi R8 Competition is best described as the straatlegale version of the R8 LMS racer. We sat there waiting for? No, but brutal it is.

The R8’s been a while Audi’s flagship when it comes to speed and athleticism. That remains, however, even so, because the R8 Competition can, as yet, no production car from Audi to match it. It is with 570 hp and a peak of 320 km/h Audi’s fastest street-legal car ever, and that could not be otherwise, because the R8 LMS, a full-blooded racer, was used as a model.

For we’ll be excited to make a small disclaimer: only 60 wealthy Audi lovers will the car be able to buy, because more reels there not from the factory in the German Neckarsulm. They all get a 5.2-litre V10 linked to a seven-speed automatic transmission. Indeed, that is the same FSI-block as the R8 LMS used during his victory at the Nürburgring 24 hours.

The Audi R8 Competition is not only extremely fast, but also looks pretty impressive. The supercar will, of course, a carbon fiber rear wing, mirror covers, bumper, and diffuser, to which the weight according to the manufacturer, properly brought down. Exact figures are unfortunately not.

The R8 Competition gets black rims and ceramic brakes with red brake calipers, which is pretty will stand out between all the dark details. Which we find also in the interior back in, because the entire centre console will be made of carbon fiber. The R8 Competition in early november to order, delivery will start in the spring of 2015.
