De nieuwe Audi R8
And that is of course not a V8…

When Audi earlier this year its second-generation R8 presented gave its customers who are not electric want to drive you two options: you take the V10 or the V10, which is the last option if Plus identical specs shows as its brother, the Lamborghini Huracan.

Gone was the V8 with which it all began, a development that has been allowed to imagine.

It is, however, obvious that Audi – or better said subsidiary quattro GmbH, that the luxepaarden with four rings produces in the brand new Böllinger Höfe facility – in addition to the high-end (and pretty expensive) V10’s also got a friendlier-priced entry-level model. The company should also have a bit of volume running costs. This entry-level model gets a modern turbocharged engine, but the 4.0 V8 from the Audi-shelves would be too much kannabaliseren on the V10, and so we must less think.

Opposite to Motoring confirms the concern of the turbocharged engine in the lower positioned R8, a recipe that during the development of the previous generation R8 not an unqualified success. But now we are a few years further, so the bumps will be off.

What source of power it is? That says Audi won’t, but it is a public secret that the new RS4 back to the biturbo V6. Such a block would, of course, also excellent in the new R8, but there are also voices that point to a five cylinder. One thing is for sure: the days of the atmospheric V8 are numbered, if you want to you should a second hand R8 buy.
