Nissan GT-R LM Nismo
It was one of the most spectacular racing cars that we have in the last decade have seen participate in the 24 hours of Le Mans. Unfortunately, it was the debut anything but smooth, rather dramatically. The future of the racing car now seems uncertain.

It all seemed so beautiful. Nissan presented at the beginning of this year the GT-R LM Nismo, that it had to take against the established order of Porsche, Audi and Toyota. Where the cars of the opponents, barely apart, he took Nissan quite different: front engine, with drive to the front wheels, and one with CHERRY teruggenwonnen energy powered electric motor on the rear wheels.

During the training courses and qualifications, it was clear that something was wrong with the Nissan GT-R LM Nismo. The ICING system of the LMP1 car was not working and the car had only to do with his internal combustion engine. The heavy hybrid system should, however, remain in the cars, they were all enrolled in the class for hybrid cars. The result: lap times that even LMP2 cars are not yet excellent.

The difference was during the race are much clearer. Pretty soon, the Nissan’s for the first time altogether, while during the day the cars suffered from technical problems. Finally, only one of the three cars to the finish line to get, on no fewer than 150 laps behind the winning Porsche 919. Because the car is, however, more than a third of the time in the pit lane has been, also this car now, the result is deleted.

The dramatic debut is extra acidic because Nissan’s GT-R LM Nismo with a lot of noise presented, and they are the main sponsor for this edition of the 24 hours of Le Mans. Or, to use the words of the Renault Nissan Alliance CEO Carlos Goshn to speak:

“Nissan has always leg associated with innovation. […] We made an attempt that did not prove fruitful, we must reassess the strategy, as we wanted to be different and competitive, but we’ve only been different.”

The LMP1 team works hard to keep the cars 27 and 28 July to be able to test at the Circuit of the Americas in Texas, prior to the 6 Hours of the Nürburgring from 28 to 30 August. Advance was planned to be at least two years to put on the GT-R LM Nismo project, but if we the usually well informed Paul Tan may believe, this week in Japan for important meetings with various members of the senior management of the brand. Bet: should we or not continue with the GT-R LM Nismo? Let’s hope that the car will get another chance and that we have the special concept in any case appreciate when all systems work as they should.
