This Maserati-mule seems to have a Ghibli-coach, but at (very) high legs. What’s going on under the camouflage is hiding?
Somewhere in the mountains of Austria is a Maserarti Ghibli around with extra ground clearance, and where an additional piece of roof is modelled. What the Italians in their shield? Say it: Ghibli Cross country or other weird Crossover, or perhaps just a test for the AWD system of the upcoming January debut Levante, to be found in a Ghibli-peel.
The latter seems annemelijk, Rolls-Royce (the Cullinan in the pipeline) reed recently also with a similar setup around.
Maserati is growing rap
In 2012 sold Maserati a void 6.288 cars, making the goal of 50,000 units in 2015 rather daring seemed. However, last year the founder of the company, there 36.500 cars, so that 50k, can they best.
Now it is being talked about is a cap for sales were established from 75,000 units in 2018, ‘exclusivity’. But if uncle Serg slim is the Maserati-cash register just to ring without that kind of meaningless productiecaps, that’s what they do but on a Ferrari. Porsche (still a pretty exclusive brand) is inmidddels around 200,000 units, and in Stuttgart they laugh all the way to the bank (to a net profit of 1.65 billion euros in the past half year to be exact).
In addition, the Fiat group’s Maserati-knaken desperately needed, so if they are clever to milk they cow to the last drop. This means that there are more models coming, for example, in the form of a Macan-competitor? Very likely, and in that light, this test is also not a superfluous exercise.
With thanks to Robin Vouts for the photos!
