Mercedes has the largest deviation consumption figures

Mercedes manipulates the European verbruikstest the most of all brands. This means that the average driver of 5,600 euros more than expected to be paid on the lifetime of the car.
This is evident from the calculations of Transport & Environment (T&E). As a new Mercedes has 40 percent more fuel than the brochure promised, than this has nothing to do with a wrong driving style, but a gross manipulation of the verbruikstesten. With simple tricks such as hard-pumped tyres with low rolling resistance, sealing of cracks and special smeerseltjes is the consumption in the laboratory as low as possible; a consumption that, in practice, therefore, never will be able to achieve. Also would modern engine management systems can detect when a test is done, then better verbruiksresultaten to deliver (“cycle beating”), and the authorities bribed prototypes to test in the laboratory of the manufacturer itself (with outdated methods).
T&E concludes that the half the official improvements in fuel consumption since 2008 is nothing more than hot air. This applies to all brands. Mercedes claims, however, that the deviation is entirely due to the driving style of the driver. “The testing procedures are not determined by the vehicle manufacturer, but by the law. The European Commission defines the rules that we must follow,” a spokesman of the German brand. They invest a lot in improving the fuel consumption such as aerodynamics. Or doors and wielkassen be taped, is, of course, concealed.
The deviation between the official consumption figures, and what, in practice, is achieved is according to T&E in 2013 increased to 31 percent compared to 8 percent in 2001. For business drivers, there is even a deviation of 43 percent. Per year does this cost the average driver 500 euros in extra fuel, what amount to of 5,600 euros over the lifetime of the car.
