Germans drank never so little beer

BERLIN –

Germans drunk never as little beer as last year. According to the statistical office Destatis was in 2015 79.5 million hectolitres of beer drunk. That is the least since 1991, when it was started with the tracking of the figures.

In 1991 drank the Germans were 110.5 million hectolitres of beer, but since then the quantity has systematically decreased.

The German brewers continue to nonetheless do well, but they have to due to the export. Between 2014 and 2015 increased exports by 4 percent, while domestic beer consumption by 0.7 percent slump.
