Geneefs consultation launched with the government of Syria
GENEVA –
The special envoy of the United Nations for Syria, Staffan de Mistura, speaks Friday in Geneva, a delegation of the Syrian government of president Bashar al-Assad. That has its spokeswoman said.
That must be the starting point of a peace conference which should help the bloody civil war in Syria to an end. The vredesoverleg would be last Monday, but disagreements over who should do it, prevented that.
That disagreement, however, still. But the UN wanted the consultation is not to re-defer. The organization hopes seem to be that the invited parties will still trickle. Critical participants have objected to the participation of certain parties that they are terrorists.
A Saudi Arabia-backed coalition of opponents of Assad has said not to come as long as the places to be bombed or sieged.
